Travel Information

Airport
You will need to book your flight arriving at Honolulu International Airport (HNL), the principal aviation gateway of the island of O'ahu. HNL is located 3 miles (5 km) west of Honolulu's downtown business district and approximately 7 miles (11 km) west of the Hawaii Prince Hotel.

HNL is host to more than 20 major United States and international commercial airlines with direct routes to many American, Asian and Pacific Rim locations. At the time of publication (April 25, 2008), the following airlines operated flights or partner flights to HNL: Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Air Pacific, Alaska, American, ANA (All Nippon Airways), China, Continental, Delta, Hawaiian, Japan, Jetstar, Korean, Northwest, Omni, Philippine, Qantas, United, US Airways, and West Jet.

Domestic U.S. and international flights arrive at and depart from the HNL main terminal.

Interisland commercial airlines serving HNL and the neighboring Hawaiian islands are Hawaiian Airlines and Go Airlines, with smaller commuter airlines operating limited interisland flights as well. Main airports on the neighbor isles include: Lihue (LIH) (island of Kaua'i); Kahului (OGG) (island of Maui); Hilo (ITO) (island of Hawai'i); and Kona (KOA) (island of Hawai'i). Additional airports include: Kapalua (JHM) (island of Maui); Lana'i City (LNY) (island of Lana'i); and Moloka'i Airport (MKK) (island of Moloka'i).

Interisland flights depart from and arrive at the HNL interisland terminal.

Rental Vehicles
Although vehicles are not necessary to participate in the Asian Adult Adoptee Gathering & Film Festival, we suggest renting a car if you plan to tour the island independently.

Vehicle rental from various rental agencies is available at the airport. Minimum rental age in Hawai'i is 25. Making reservations in advance is strongly advised. Car rental shuttles are available at the airport to transport you to the rental stations.

If you do wish to rent a vehicle, we recommend making a reservation with Hertz, with whom we have a special discount available for rental reservations between October 2 and October 20. To apply the discount, provide CV# 022Q4102 when making your reservation online at www.hertz.com or by phone at 800-654-2240 (in the US and Canada) or 405-749-4434 (elsewhere).
